Fiberglass Pool
Prices
Fiberglass pool prices vary from one
manufacturer to the other. It is best to work with a
manufacturer who is transparent about the details of its
pricing.
Fiberglass Prices - An
Overwiev
It is possible that a single manufacturer
will quote different prices for fiber glass pools depending
on the extent of installation and the services available
during and after the construction. Some fiberglass pool
makers are able to present several packages or options on
installation tagged in varying prices. These packages may
be:
-
Self-Install – this set up
includes delivery of the whole pool shell, including
its entire filter as well as plumbing systems. The
owner takes care of the other labor involved such as
excavation, setting of pool, backfilling, adding
water, concrete prepping and forming, electrical,
fencing and many other types of work to complete the
installation. This set-up is ideal for homeowners
who are knowledgeable about the labor involved in
the installation. The price for this package may
range from $12,000 to $30,000 depending on the size
of the pool.
-
Pool Less
Concrete Decking – like the
self-install package, the pool shell is shipped to
the homeowner’s property. This package comes with
the pool equipment, excavation work, setting of
pool, water filling, installation and pool permit.
It does not cover electrical work, fencing, concrete
forming, and cleaning of pool. The price for this
fiberglass pool may range from $20,000 to $45,000.
The difference will also depend on the other
inclusions to the pool and its size.
-
Pool w/
Concrete – this package includes
concrete decking, pool cleaning, final grading plus
everything that comes with package #2. This is
definitely pricier than #2 at $30,000 to $60,000.
Again, size will play a part in determining the
price of these fiberglass pools.
-
Turn-Key- Many
oftoday’s busy but discriminating homeowners prefer
to just work with a sole manufacturer who can
provide all the products and services to complete
their fiberglass pool requirements. Such a package
will cover everything from shipment of the whole set
of pool materials such as pool shell, plumbing and
filtering systems and other fixtures. Labor as well
as materials for excavation, setting of pool,
backfilling, adding water, concrete prepping and
forming, electrical, fencing, final grading,
cleaning of pool and pool permits are part of the
package at a price ranging from $35,000 to
$75,000.
Fiberglass Pool Prices -Worth It In
Time?
An initial review of the above fiberglass
pool prices will cause adverse reactions. Most will find
them too expensive and hardly affordable. But if one is
serious about investing in a fiberglass pool, one must not
only consider the initial price but also look into the
benefits of such a heavy investment.
Expensive fiberglass pools are hassle-free
from day one and offer summers and summers of swimming fun
that may well last for 25 years. True, concrete or vinyl
pools are priced way much lower than fiberglass pools but
maintenance costs in a very short course of time for these
two type of pools may add up to the initial investment. This
in turn is as expensive as spending for a fiberglass
pool.
For example, concrete pools will need
to be re-plastered after 8 or ten years of use and vinyl
liners may also require replacement after a similar period.
Liner replacements may total $8,000 to $12,000 in the span
of 20 years. With fiberglass pools efficiently installed,
there is virtually no need for any replacement of pool shell
within 25 years of use. In the long run, the low or no
maintenance cost of fiberglass pools makes up for its
initial steep price. There are many variables to consider
when investingating inground pool prices.
